Multi-polaron effects with spinless and spinful impurities in a bosonic quantum gas (A12)

Subject Area Optics, Quantum Optics and Physics of Atoms, Molecules and Plasmas
Term from 2012 to 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 31867626

Project Description

Project A12 investigates single or few well controlled, neutral impurities immersed in a bosonic quantum gas with variable interaction. In collaboration with projects A3 and A5, the project focusses on, first, dynamics of single and few Bose polarons in the weak and strongly coupled regime, where the impurity can be either free or trapped in a species selective optical lattice. And, second, on spinful impurities, where the quantum bath can mediate a long-range interaction between spatially separated impurities.
