Project Details
Chemical reaction control with plasmonic gap antennas (C06)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2012 to 2017
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 49579428
This project aims at the integration of gap antennas for plasmonic stimulation of chemical reactions by means of light-induced generation of energetic charge carriers. For this nanoparticle gap antennas hosting the reactants are self-assembled based on electrostatic interaction or with macrocyclic molecules, and further integrated onto waveguide structures. The plasmon-controlled reaction is read out with advanced far-field and near-field optical detection schemes. Considered chemical reactions comprise click and photodimerization reactions.
