Bonding, charge transfer and aggregation of luminescent Pt-complexes at metallic interfaces (B13)

Subject Area Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term from 2012 to 2017
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 49579428

Project Description

Pt(II) complexes bearing tetradentate luminophores for vapor-deposited and solution-processed electroluminescent devices will be synthesized and investigated with the aid of density functional theory. They will be deposited onto metallic surfaces (single molecules, mono- and multilayers), and the feasibility of simplified devices consisting only of aggregated complexes at metallic substrates will be explored by electrically exciting them with an STM tip to spatially and spectrally photomap the luminescent species.
