The Codices theologici et philosophici in folio (Cod. theol. et phil. 2°) of the Württembergische Landesbibliothek in Stuttgart consist of 229 medieval manuscripts "most of them written in latin" of which the proposed project aims to produce a scholarly catalogue. 85 manuscripts have been selected for the second section of the project. Most of the manuscripts were brought to the Württembergische Landesbibliothek as a consequence of the secularization at the beginning of the 19th century. They contain, among others, texts concerning the medieval monastery reforms as well as mystically influenced theological texts of the late middle ages. It can be expected that the cataloguing process will reveil further little known textual witnesses. The project will thus bring forth results of relevance for scholars of diverse medieval studies. The cataloguing is to be conducted at the Centre for Manu-scripts at Wuerttembergische Landesbibliothek Stuttgart. The results will be published online via Man-uscripta Mediaevalia (www.manuscripta-mediaevalia.de).
