Project Details
Response of paddy soil microbial communities to salt stress (D08 (A05))
Subject Area
Microbial Ecology and Applied Microbiology
Term
from 2012 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 192445154
A large proportion of the global rice acreage is adversely affected by salinity. However, little is known about how soil salinity affects structure and functioning of paddy soil microbial communities. In a first metatranscriptome study, we observed a differential response of the community members to the addition of NaCl. In the following project period, we will examine the long-term effects of increasing soil salinity on the microbial communities in flooded rice soil.
