Project Details
Cooling and Performance of a Turbine under periodically unsteady inflow conditions (B05)
Subject Area
Hydraulic and Turbo Engines and Piston Engines
Term
from 2012 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 200291049
This project aims to guarantee the film cooling of turbine stators for all operating conditions and will as well assess the performance characteristics of the turbine. Experimental investigations at the Hot-Acoustic-Testrig (HAT) and TU-Pulse-Testrig will be carried out to identify the impact of the moving stagnation point line on the cooling concept and characteristics of turbines. Numerical studies will help to better understand the unsteady mixing processes of the cooling flow with the hot main flow and to derive specific design criteria for turbines with unsteady boundary conditions.
