The goal of the project is the development of passive and stable port-Hamiltonian (pH) reduced order models for the different subsystems in pulsed detonation combustion and shockless explosion combustion. The pH structure allows to reduce each subsystem separately and to combine them in a modular way leading again to a pH system. Further advantages of the pH formulation are the robustness to perturbations, due to a physically meaningful formulation as well as the invariance of the model class under Galerkin-projection with respect to space and time discretization. An operator pH formulation of the combustion equations will be developed and analyzed. The newly developed model reduction method „shifted Proper Orthogonal Decomposition“ (shifted POD) will be extended with respect to preservation of the pH structure. Moreover, pH structure preserving data driven model reduction methods will be developed, based on numerical and experimental input-output data of the combustion chamber. Furthermore, the determination of the transport velocities and directions within the shifted POD framework will be investigated using methods of machine learning.
