Term
from 2012 to 2020
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 213602983
Based on the analytic platform provided by C6, the impact of complement, coagulation, shear stress, platelets, and endothelial cells in the context of xenogeneic acute vascular rejection (AVR) can be investigated in vitro. A high number of different future porcine transgenic donor modifications including characterization of combination approaches of multiple transgenes and pharmacological interventions (e.g. complement inhibitors) can be evaluated efficiently and systematically. In vitro investigation of different xenogeneic settings (pig/NHPs and pig/human, respectively) will assess the variability and matching/mismatching determinants of donors and recipient thereby advancing the selection process before pig-to-NHP organ transplantation in vivo.
