Brain states representing dynamics of meta-control (A07)

Subject Area Human Cognitive and Systems Neuroscience
General, Cognitive and Mathematical Psychology
Biological Psychiatry
Term from 2012 to 2020
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 178833530

Project Description

A core assumption of the theoretical framework of the CRC is that volitional control depends critically on meta-control parameters, which modulate global control states and their adaption to changing environ-mental contexts and task demands. Currently is not well understood how such dynamic control states relate to corresponding neuro-physiological brain states. Project A7 aims to detect such dynamic control states at the level of large-scale brain networks using advanced neuroimaging methods. The behavioral implications of the detected brain states will then be validated in experiments, in which will attempt to identify brain states in real-time and adapt task stimuli accordingly.
