Project Description

Molecular heteronuclear nitrides and phosphides will be isolated using abnormal carbenes and cyclic as well as acyclic alkylamino carbenes. The investigations will concentrate on Groups 13 to 15 elements. The abnormal carbenes and the alkylamino carbenes are more electrophilic and more nucleophilic when compared with normal N-heterocyclic carbenes. The molecular species therefore will be better stabilized and easier isolated. The resulting molecular heteronuclear element species may have interesting properties for the preparation of semi conducting materials and catalysts. As an alternative method for replacing the alkylamino carbenes and abnormal carbenes we propose pincer molecules which are an excellent tool for preparing these systems.
