Thermoreversible polymer networks based on cross-links formed by Diels-Alder (DA) reaction are designed with an adjustable temperature of the retro-DA reaction between 70 and 250 °C, which is an appropriate temperature range for the fabrication of the envisioned hierarchical materials. For this purpose tailor-made copolymers with DA functionalities will be synthesized and commercial polymers will be functionalized with DA groups. Also linker for binding nanoparticle clusters to the polymer matrix using DA chemistry will be developed. In addition to DA chemistry, functionalized vitrimers as matrices with adjustable softening temperature will be investigated.
