Project Details
Optimal control of the multiferroic Quantum dynamics in oxide nanostructures (B10)
Subject Area
Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2012 to 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 31047526
We seek a functionalization of the driven quantum dynamics in multiferroic composites for applications in quantum thermodynamics and quantum information. Building on previous accomplishments we will exploit the interplay between spin order and ferroelectricity with the aim to control the information transfer which could be mediated through charge, spin, lattice and/or thermal excitations. Concrete applications such as multiferroic diodes and ultrafast channels for quantum information transfer will be analyzed and their feasibility will be assessed through material specific simulations.
