Project Details
Graphene and Organic Molecules: Transport Experiments (B08)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2012 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 182849149
We will use nanoelectrodes based on epitaxial graphene to investigate charge transport through single molecules. This allows applying unprecedented methodology, in particular single-molecule spectroscopy on a contacted molecule, mode-selective excitation of vibrations, thermoelectricity etc. We expect to elucidate the fundamental mechanisms of charge transport through single molecules. In a further line of research, we will design and create tailor made electronic devices based on epitaxial graphene that will enable fundamental experiments for investigating light-matter interaction.
