Project Description

For the exploitation of hydro power sites with small head differences and small flows inan economically and ecologically justifiable way, the application of water power screws is appropriate. Water screws are considered to be effective andhave low impact on the environment, especially for residual flows at weirs. No detailed investigations in nature ofthe power characteristics of water power screws exist up to now. During the project theoretical considerations of the hydraulic processes of an optimal design water power screware developed and a design flow is derived. The project results aresummarized in a book.
