Project Details
Charge transfer mechanisms at TMDC/organic hybrid interfaces (B07)
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2011 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 182087777
The project aims at the comprehensive understanding of excitations and charge transfer processes in ultrathin photo-active membranes formed by the combination of 2D transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDC) and conjugated organic molecules. We will embed these hybrid inorganic/organic systems (HIOS) membranes in vertical diode structures and investigate the fundamental opto-electronic processes such as the formation and dissociation of excitons, charge generation, and charge recombination. An important focus is on the spectral properties of the hybrid charge transfer excitations in these HIOS and their application for infrared light detection.
