Theory of transfer processes and optical spectra of molecule, inorganic semiconductor, and metal nanoparticle hybrid systems (B06)

Subject Area Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics
Term from 2011 to 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 182087777

Project Description

Prospective work shall continue the theoretical analysis of ultrafast excited state dynamics in hybrid systems which are formed by molecular complexes, semiconductor nanocrystals, and metal nanoparticles. This also covers the computation of transient optical spectra. Therefore, we further apply the semi-empirical type of description which has been developed in the first founding period. Photoinduced charge separation at the molecule/ZnO interface will be studied in a first sub-project. A second sub-project focusses on electronic excitation energy transfer in a tubular dye aggregate and between this aggregate and CdTe nanocrystals.
