ZnO/organic hybrid structures (A05)

Subject Area Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term from 2011 to 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 182087777

Project Description

The project comprises three interrelated topics. First, the assembly of prototypical conjugated organic molecules on metal oxides, in particular ZnO, is studied with the goal of developing growth protocols for high-quality HIOS. A second target is the resonant coupling of surface plasmon polaritons propagating at these interfaces with molecular vibrational and charge excitations. Third, fabricating inorganic/organic multilayers, hybrid exciton polaritons and hyperbolic metamaterials are investigated. The project provides also tailored metal oxide films, quantum well structures, and HIOS specimen for other CRC projects.
