Investigation of electron correlation effects in organic charge-transfer salts using scanning tunneling spectroscopy (B12)

We will investigate the electronic state of superconducting k-(BEDT-TTF)2X charge transfer salts above and below the critical temperature using scanning tunnelling electron spectroscopy on in-situ cleaved surfaces. We will test the influence of weak disorder on the temperature-dependent density of states exploiting the cooling rate dependent crystallographic order of k-(BEDT-TTF)2X salts. Taking advantage of the lateral resolution we will examine the angular- and site-dependent superconducting order parameter in order to gain insight in the pairing mechanism.
