Project Details
Efficient additive manufacturing of multi-material-parts (B06)
Subject Area
Production Automation and Assembly Technology
Term
from 2011 to 2023
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 61375930
Aim of the sub-project is the development of a fabrication technology based on laser beam melting of polymers and electrophotographic powder deposition for the manufacturing of thermo-plastic multi-material parts. The application of electrophotography for the rapid and high-precision preparation of multi-material powder layers requires the mutual adaption of process and material properties taking into account the boundary conditions of the realized (quasi-) simultaneous, intensity-selective irradiation strategy, which allows the simultaneous consolidation of materials with significantly different thermal property profiles.
