Modification and structuring of powders by gas phase processes (A02)

Subject Area Mechanical Process Engineering
Term from 2011 to 2023
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 61375930

Project Description

Sub-project A2 aims at the development of new process strategies for the production of polymer- and metal-based multi-material particles for additive manufacturing, e. g. by addition of nanoscale additives. By extensive property characterisation, the understanding of nanoscale particles on nucleation and modification of polymer properties, e. g. crystallisation kinetics and metal properties, e. g. structure and phase formation, will be improved. Combined with process modelling, relations between single particle properties, processability and manufactured parts properties will be established, allowing recursive design of application-optimised multi-materials and parts.
