Spatiotemporal model of neuronal signaling and its regulation by presynaptic membrane scaffolds (A04)

Subject Area Bioinformatics and Theoretical Biology
Term from 2011 to 2023
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 184695641

Project Description

Project A04 develops theoretical and computational models of processes involved in neuronal signaling, specifically exo/endocytosis at presynaptic neurons and assembly of protein scaffolds at the membrane. Specifically, we have developed particle-based models for simulating protein recruitment at endo- and exocytic sites and their effect on membrane mechanics. These models are used to derive models of endo- and exocytosis of unprecedented spatiotemporal resolution.
