Global Perceptions of Inequality in World Society (C05)
Subject Area
Political Science
Term
from 2011 to 2015
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 138713964
C5 will study how concepts of global inequality and social inequalities in developing states are taken up, adapted, and applied in processes of policy formulation and agenda-setting in the context of discussions about new global development goals. The translation of abstract ideas to concrete developing projects will be the main analytical focus of the project. Offering a comprehensive study of global inequality and the role of international organizations, C5 will analyze the process of for-mulating programmes primarily within the World Bank and the United Nations Development Pro-gram as well as the development of national strategies for recipient countries, relating to both their structural conditions as well as their particular understandings of (in)equality.
