In B3 the multi-dimensional character of social inequalities is investigated within the comprehensive framework of employment relationships. This means that not only financial and other material inequalities are considered but also status, autonomy, insecurities, and mutual expectations. In addition the interaction between capabilities in employment and private life with possible positive spill-overs as well as possible conflicts between the two will be studied. The multi-level design of the unique new longitudinal data set based on a Linked-Employer-Employee-Partner design which was established in the first funding period will be continued in the second phase. It allows for studying complex workplace inequalities with adequate consideration of the role of work organizations as both context and actor. Moreover, the design allows for comparing and interrelating characteristics of the employment relationship with those of the partner relationship. .
