Project Details
Molecular function of VACUOLAR FUSION DEFECTIVE proteins in intracellular trafficking and vacuole biogenesis (A06)
Subject Area
Plant Cell and Developmental Biology
Term
from 2011 to 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 170483403
The vacuole is the largest organelle of a plant cell and vacuoles are important for the storage of various substances. Plant vacuoles therefore directly or indirectly impact yield quality and quantity. The molecular detail of the biogenesis and maintenance of plant vacuoles has only very recently begun to be understood. Here, we aim to identify factors regulating this process through genetic and cell biological analysis of established and novel components.
