Coherent FEL and high-harmonic pulses and their wavefronts (C08)

Subject Area Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term from 2011 to 2019
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 28586557

Project Description

The objective of this project is the brilliance improvement of short wavelength HHG and FEL sources for soft x-ray microscopy and CDI applications. For that purpose techniques for measurement and optimization of wavefront and spatial coherence properties shall be developed and applied to HHG and FEL beams. Benefiting from these studies, an HHG-based CDI setup shall be modified for substantially higher resolution and shorter wavelengths. This will include the investigation of waveguiding phenomena and novel optical components to control the beam profile and polarization state of coherent EUV radiation.
