Final Report Abstract
Die heutigen Anforderungen an die Produktionstechnik sind aufgrund der sozialen und ökologischen Entwicklungen stetig gestiegen und komplexer geworden. So wird im Sinne des Umweltschutzes eine ressourcen- und energieschonende Fertigung verlangt, die aber gleichzeitig kosteneffizient sein und hohe Qualitätsstandards erfüllen muss. Da dies in vielen Bereichen nur durch konsequenten Leichtbau und steigende Funktionsintegration möglich ist, nimmt die Fügetechnik eine Schlüsselrolle ein. Die gestellten Ansprüche können nur durch die Kombination unterschiedlicher metallischer Werkstoffe oder durch Paarungen von Metallen mit Polymeren oder Keramiken vollumfänglich erfüllt werden.
Allerdings stoßen konventionelle Fügeverfahren hierbei an ihre technologischen Grenzen. Dagegen bieten Fügeverfahren, die auf der plastischen Deformation mindestens eines Fügepartners beruhen, ein großes Potential, die heutigen Anforderungen zu erfüllen. Durch die Kombination bestimmter Werkstoffe und eine adäquat ausgebildete Fügestelle lassen sich gezielt Eigenschaften einstellen, die hinsichtlich Funktionserfüllung und -integration sowie Energie- und Ressourcenverbrauch einen deutlichen Mehrwert liefern. Jedoch bestanden zu Beginn des Schwerpunktprogramms noch wesentliche Wissenslücken bezüglich der Fügemechanismen und dadurch Unsicherheiten im Prozess, die eine industrielle Anwendung bisher verhinderten.
Das Schwerpunktprogramm 1640 (SPP 1640) ist daher mit der übergeordneten Zielstellung initiiert worden, das Wissen über die relevanten Fügemechanismen zu erweitern, davon ausgehend Methoden zur Auslegung der Prozesse und der Fügestellen zu generieren sowie die notwendige Qualifizierung der neuen Fügeverfahren sicherzustellen.
