Project Description

In this project the ultrafast dynamics and control of single color centers in diamond will be investigated. Two-color pump-probe experiments will reveal the transient phonon dynamics in this system and shed light on the conversion between different charge states. Furthermore, we will implement an ultrafast optical manipulation scheme of the electron spin of a single color center. Crucial for all these experiments is a strongly enhanced light-matter coupling between the ultrafast laser pulses and the color center. We will design and fabricate dielectric and metallic nanophotonic structures to reach this goal.
