Project Details
Multidisciplinary Aircraft Design and Technology Assessment (Z)
Subject Area
Lightweight Construction, Textile Technology
Term
from 2011 to 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 133733460
This project investigates configurations with UHBR propulsion and a forward swept wing, and aims to identi-fy the potential of in-flight BLC compressors for cruise-flight laminar wing flow. To further relieve the en-gines at takeoff, an independent power supply for the compressors promises advantages that will be inves-tigated in detail and conclusively evaluated on the overall aircraft level. Noise assessment in the context of the aircraft design will focus on enhanced source models for the propeller and for the Coanda flap. Fur-thermore, proposed SFB noise reduction technologies will be implemented. The objective of this project is also to examine the technical as well as the acoustic potential of unconventional configurations compared to the current SFB reference vehicles.
