Project Details
Numerical modeling of pore scale flow and acoustics in and around porous materials for high Reynolds numbers and validation (A05)
Subject Area
Fluid Mechanics
Term
from 2011 to 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 133733460
The airfoil trailing edge porous materials for reduced acoustic emissions, which were investigated during the last funding period, were generated by stochastic processes. In order to have better control over the materi-al properties and to allow for a gradual change in material parameters, it is desirable to generate porous material with defined microstructures by 3D printing. In this project, the microstructure of a porous medium for a given graded material or a given transport parameters will be derived under consideration of manufac-turing uncertainties using robust optimization.
