Polynuclear metal phthalocyanin and metal porphyrin complex ions: Gas-phase structures and reactivi-ties (C06)

Subject Area Physical Chemistry of Molecules, Liquids and Interfaces, Biophysical Chemistry
Term from 2011 to 2022
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 142808194

Project Description

This 3MET project studies self-assembled and covalently linked metalloporphyrin oligomers of coplanar, cofacial and daisy-chain types for their structures, chemical reactivities and optical properties. It focusses on the application of isolation techniques, and it utilizes ion mobility mass spectrometry and hyphenation thereof with photoelectron and photodissociation (PD) spectroscopy. It reduces spectral complexity by cryo cooling – for vibrational IR-PD and electronic inert gas tagging spectroscopy, and it conducts DFT modelling on its own and in cooperation. It utilizes time-resolved photoelectron spectroscopy to characterize ultrafast relaxation processes.
