Subject Area
Inorganic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term
from 2011 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 142808194
This 3MET project synthesizes di-, tri- and tetrametallic linear homomultimetallic Au(I) and heterometallic coinage metal 3MET complexes with tailor-made ligands which force the d10 metals into a preset geometry with metallophilic contacts. It focusses on heterometallic Au(I) d-metal complexes. It investigates the correlation between luminescence and metal arrangement. It utilizes bi- and terpyridine-functionalized N-heterocyclic (NHC) dicarbenes and phosphines, phosphine-functionalized NHC carbenes, and amidinates. It records luminescence of samples in solid state and in gas phase as influenced by their ligand backbone and nuclearity. It elucidates cooperative effects by comparison with multi- and mononuclear systems and by theoretical analysis.
