Project Details
Homodinuclear Lanthanide Complexes and Heterodinuclear Lanthanide-d-Metal Complexes (B03)
Subject Area
Inorganic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term
from 2011 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 142808194
This 3MET project conducts the synthesis of bi- and multimetallic 4f/4f’ and 3d/4f heteronuclear complexes: (a) Synthesis of complexes for catalytic applications and small molecule activation; (b) Synthesis of complexes suitable for magnetic and spectroscopic investigation within research areas A and C, respectively. In each case, the metal atoms are in defined compartments with fixed metal-to-metal distances. In catalysis, the project extends to different d/f multimetallic complexes. For small molecule activation heterometallic [M]-O-[M‘] and peroxo [M]-O-O-[M] scaffolds will be used. For magnetic and spectroscopic investigation, the project focuses on 4f/4f’ systems. These studies will lead to significant broader understanding of cooperative effects.
