Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 142808194
This 3MET project elucidates functional and enthalpic cooperativities in 3MET complexes and clusters of 3d, 4d, and 4f metals by spectroscopic and kinetic methods within tandem cryo ion traps, investigating their magnetism, their IR spectra and their reaction kinetics. It probes [FenLnmLx] (Ln = lanthanide, L = ligand) complexes and alike, superexchange coupled oligonuclear iron, cobalt and chromium complexes of the type (Fe,Cr,Co)3(μ3-O)(HCOO)6+, and small clusters of 3d metals, Fen+, Con+, Nin+, n ≤ 4, and their hydrides, sub-oxides, and adsorbate complexes, as well as some alloys thereof, e.g. with single 5d atoms. It sets up trapped ion mobility spectrometry (TIMS) of 3MET complexes with isomeric ligands for dipole moment tuning.
