Project Details
Conventional and synchrotron-based Mössbauer spectroscopy of photo-switchable oligonuclear com-plexes & magnetic exchange couplings in radical-bridged complexes (A04)
Subject Area
Inorganic Molecular Chemistry - Synthesis and Characterisation
Term
from 2011 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 142808194
This 3MET project focuses on the functional cooperativity between spin crossover (SCO) Fe - and photoac-tive Ir centers, and it investigates the optical excitation of the Ir sites influencing the Fe – SCO in the pres-ence of redox-active and photochromic bridging ligands, utilizing synchrotron-based nuclear forward scat-tering (NFS) by the Mössbauer effect of the 193Ir nucleus. It also performs 161Dy nuclear inelastic scattering (NIS) and NFS of Dy ions in complexes with Fe. It also uses conventional 57Fe-Mössbauer spectroscopy and 57Fe NFS and NIS. It further studies photo-induced electron transfer between ferrocene and redox-active ligands in trinuclear complexes, and Fe2 SCO complexes with radical bridged ligands.
