Project Details
Analysis of adhesion mechanisms and barrier properties of flexible nanostructured plasma polymer coatings on polymer substrates (B03)
Subject Area
Polymer Materials
Term
from 2010 to 2022
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 138690629
In the foreground of the B03 project lies the adjustability of pores at the nanoscale range by control over the plasma process and the macromolecular structure of the substrate, as well as the influence of pore size and pore-wall chemical functionalization on the transport processes of small polar and nonpolar molecules relevant to both barrier- and membrane-coatings. The analytical approach is mostly based on a combined in-situ near ambient pressure XPS (NAP-XPS) and FTIR spectroscopy, as well as the combination of ellipsometric- and quartz microbalance- porosimetry.
