This imaging genetics study examines cognitive coping style using functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) and Voxel-based Morphometry (VBM). The aims to be investigated are: (1) The influence of cognitive coping style on neural activation during the perception of emotional faces.(2) Cognitive coping style and connectivity in the corticolimbic system.(3) Influences of cognitive coping style on brain morphology.(4) The investigation of serotonin transporter gene polymorphisms and their modulation of neural activation, connectivity and brain morphology. This study will be performed at the Clinical Brain Disorders Branch (Director: Dr. Daniel R. Weinberger) at the National Institute of Mental Health, Bethesda, USA.
