This application is based on the possibilities of the Institut für Anorganische Chemie at the Universität Stuttgart, a substantial knowledge and experiences in the field of the chemistry concerning transition metal pnictides and related compounds together with an extensive collaboration with other groups in solid-state chemistry and physics. My contribution within the priority program 1458 would be the development and the characterization of modified or new materials in this research area. The main attention of the working program would concentrate on the preparation of pure bulk superconducting materials as well as on growing of single crystals for precise structural elucidation of the systems concerning this priority program. Besides the preparation of materials a widespread characterization primarily X-ray investigations and thermal behavior of the synthesized compounds would be carried out. If necessary also investigations of their magnetic properties, spectroscopic behavior as well as electron microscopy and microprobe analyses are possible...
