Project Description

The aim of the project is the development, analysis and implementation of ALE-Finite element based discretizations for the robust and accurate 3d simulation of two-phase flows with insoluble and soluble surfactants. The model consists of the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations for velocity and pressure, the transport equations for the concentration of the surfactants in the bulk phases, and the transport equation for the concentration on the evolving interface. The main objective is a better understanding of the behaviour of such complex flows.
