Optimal reactor design and operation for liquid multiphase systems (B01)

Subject Area Chemical and Thermal Process Engineering
Term from 2010 to 2021
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 56091768

Project Description

In subproject B1, a model-based reactor design methodology is developed, valid for complex reac-tion networks, different phase combinations (gas/liquid, liquid/liquid, gas/liquid/liquid) and switchable solvent systems (thermomorphic, micellar). The methodology is used for designing innovative reactor modules for one reaction example (reductive amination of undecanal). The developed reactor devices are investigated regarding their fluid dynamic and mixing characteristics by use of experimental methods and computational tools. Selected reactor modules are integrated in miniplants where the reaction performance is evaluated.
