Therapeutic impact of protease deficiency on breast cancer invasion and metastasis (B07)

Subject Area Cell Biology
Term from 2010 to 2021
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 89986987

Project Description

To address whether the lysosomal proteases cathepsin B and D are essential for mammary cancer progression and tumor maintenance inducible Cre systems allowing for defined onsets of protease deficiencies in cancer or stromal cells will be employed. Interference of deficiencies with targeting PI3K/mTOR will be studied, since mTOR signaling is frequently dysregulated in breast cancer and the mTOR complex is associated with lysosomal membranes.
