Understanding the role of the BRAFV600E oncoprotein in colorectal cancer initiation and metastasis (B04)

Subject Area Cell Biology
Term from 2010 to 2021
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 89986987

Project Description

This project aims to decipher the mechanisms by which the highly aggressive BRAFV600E mutant colon cancer – often associated with peritoneal carcinomatosis – establishes its characteristic metastatic spreading pattern. B4 will characterize BRAFV600E target genes and address how BRAFV600E cooperates with other signaling pathways. In collaboration with C11 (N) this project will identify factors that mediate homing to the peritoneum.
