In the project the developed technique for the three dimensional multi-scale simulation of thermomechanically-coupled crack propagation based on the XFEM, non-local damage and the multi-scale projection method will be extended to consider kinetic effects. This enables the calculation of the crack propagation length per load cycle, rather than prescribing it by a user defined parameter. To predict the remaining lifetime of the component it is necessary to efficiently simulate a couple of thousand load cycles. For that, the temporal multi-scale method WATMUS will be coupled to the spatial multi-scale method. This allows for the assessment of the influence of different damage patterns on the remaining lifetime.
