TP-B2s goal is the experimental investigation of evaporation and mixing processes in free falling droplets under near- to supercritical thermodynamic conditions. To this end, laser spectroscopic methods as well as high speed shadowgraphy are employed. To improve the accuracy in numerical simulations, long term targets are the development and validation of analytical evaporation models, whose applicability is not restricted to small departure from equilibrium.
