Project Details
Magnetic Resonance on Correlated Matter (F04 (B02))
Subject Area
Experimental Condensed Matter Physics
Term
from 2010 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 107745057
Electron spin resonance (ESR) and nuclear magnetic and quadrupole resonance (NMR and NQR) are employed to probe the local electronic and magnetic properties in strongly correlated matter with competing internal electron and latttice degrees of freedom. The focus will be on multiferroics and related systems, including one dimensional (1D) spin chains with competing exchange bonds and anisotropy, layered 2D triangular and Kagome spin arrangements with spin-liquid groundstates and vortex excitations, as well as 3D frustrated magnets forming Skyrmion lattices.
