Project Details
Upscaling spatio-temporal patterns of crop processes (B05)
Subject Area
Plant Cultivation, Plant Nutrition, Agricultural Technology
Term
from 2010 to 2018
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 15232683
The effect of soil heterogeneity and management practices on the dynamic change of growth ecophysiology patterns of major crop types cultivated in the Rur catchment will be characterized. Experimental, modeling and scaling approaches are applied to improve the vegetation surface characterization in TerrSysMP. Coupling shoot-root models, effects of land-use change and management on flux patterns, and the inclusion of remote-sensing approaches for quantifying plant functional type parameters are particularly emphasized.
