Project Details
Robust methods for the evaluation of policy reforms (B05)
Subject Area
Statistics and Econometrics
Term
from 2010 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 139943784
The project develops new econometric methods for impact evaluation and applies them in the empirical analysis of educational interventions in the German Internet Panel, in France and in Sweden. In the first part, nonparametric methods are developed for models that permit arbitrary treatment effect heterogeneity. This includes methods for mediation analysis, reform sequences and causal chains, regression discontinuity design and distributional effects, bandwidth choice and doubly robust estimators, instrumental variables, semiparametric models with self-selection and endogeneity and econometrics for randomized experiments (RCT). In the second part, educational and health reforms are evaluated with a focus on the longitudinal projects that were initiated in the second funding period in the GIP, in France and in Sweden.
