Project Details
Ultracold Bose gases with variable interactions (A09)
Subject Area
Optics, Quantum Optics and Physics of Atoms, Molecules and Plasmas
Term
from 2009 to 2019
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 31867626
Project A09 studies strongly interacting Bose gases as a model system within the SFB/TR 49. One focus is the investigation of mass transport processes such as the dynamical arrest in optical lattices and the current-voltage characteristics of a Mott insulator. A second focus is the implementation of long-range interactions in ultracold gases via excitation to Rydberg states. Project A09 pursuits a close interaction with theory projects A03, A05 and B03 in order to develop a thorough understanding and a quantitative description of the experiments.
