Project Details
Role of JmjC domain-containing proteins in endothelial cell signaling and repair (B05)
Subject Area
Cardiology, Angiology
Term
from 2010 to 2021
Project identifier
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 75732319
The major aim of this project is to investigate the role of JmjC domain-containing proteins in endothelial cell function. JmjC domain-containing proteins play key roles as epigenetic regulators. Here, we will elucidate the mechanisms underlying the function of the two histone demethylases JMJD2B and JMJD3 in endothelial-mesenchymal transition and during adult neovascularization, respectively. Furthermore, we will establish a method to analyse the endothelial cell methylome with a subsequent functional analysis of interesting protein candidates.
