Based on the results of the first funding period of the project, time-temperature-diagrams for gear profile grinding will be developed. These diagrams will take into account the locally varying power generation and energy dissipation within the contact zone during gear profile grinding. The planned research work aims at demonstrating that - even for complex part geometries and engagement conditions - the developed material specific diagrams can be applied for the layout of gear profile grinding e.g. the appropriate selection of grinding process parameters.
