Regulation of Immune-mediated Liver Injury (B01)

Subject Area Immunology
Term from 2010 to 2021
Project identifier Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - Project number 80750187

Project Description

Immune-mediated liver inflammation occurs during viral and autoimmune liver disease and as a comorbidity of inflammatory bowel syndromes. Immune regulators such as IL-10 and Ceacam1 down-modulate inflammatory responses and affect the composition of the gut microbiota. Microbial metabolites, in turn, educate intestinal regulatory immune cells that are supposed to migrate into the liver. In our project, we will analyze how IL-10 and Ceacam1 affect immune regulation in immune-mediated liver damage via the gut-liver axis.
